I’m not going to post a long dissertation about whom you should cast your vote.

I will say that there is a clear choice and you should definitely make it based upon your principles.

There is no perfect human candidate. There never has been one and there never will be. You must choose who is closest to your principles. I’m deeply saddened by the state of our union and I would really like to see a change. I wish that we could go backward. Backward?!?! You may ask. I want to see a return to the constitution of our nation and a return to our Christian principles. I agree that this is a tall order and I understand that this may not happen, but I will work and pray for that outcome.

Your vote matters! Do not sit home, do not give up on America, do not make excuses. VOTE! Your nation is counting on you!

It’s been a long time…

It’s been a LONG time…

So, I started this blog quite some time ago and as many things do, it fell by the wayside. During my lack of blog posts, many things have happened.

My country has descended even further into decline because of faulty leadership and people who follow, but do not think. I’m more than a little frightened about the coming weeks, months, and years and the course that my country is upon. I realize and accept that my God is still in control and I will trust Him regardless of what happens. I know that I often forget to remember that His ways are not my ways and His thoughts are not my thoughts. I do not possess the mental capacity to understand His infinite wisdom and sovereignty.

Another thing that happened is that I went through a dry spell in my relationship with God. This affected every aspect of my life. When one fails to put God in His appropriate place, one tends to become selfish and forget about others, even the ones whom they should love and care for first. As the leader of my home, it is my responsibility and duty to make sure that this does not happen.
I’m thankful for the patience and lovingkindness of my God. I’m also very thankful for my wife who always stands beside me as encourages me.

My wife. What can I say? She’s continued to be the love of my life and my very best friend. I enjoy her company and I think she enjoys mine. She at least gets the pleasure of seeing my antics first hand. One of the great joys in my life, is when I say or do something that puts a smile on her face.
Like any married couple, we have had our ups and downs, but I can honestly say that we have more ups and downs. I love her with all my heart and am very thankful for God giving her to me.

One of the highlights that has happened is that my wife and I have had a baby girl. This has been an mind blowing experience. I believe it has opened my eyes just a little bit more into how God loves and cares for me. Our little girl has brought so much joy into our lives that it is hard to even comprehend. She’s an energetic baby with a ton of personality. She makes us laugh every day.

I’ve also realized the importance of being prepared. I’ve always been someone who has seen the importance of being prepared, but I’ve started to see that make me a little more interested in being prepared. The most important thing, is the fact that God expects me to take care of my family…not the government or anyone else. I believe God will take care of me, but I also believe that God won’t do things for me that I am perfectly capable of doing myself. I’m no expert, but I’m learning a little more as time passes.

I’ve also realized more and more that there are a lot of people hurting and going through tough times. You don’t necessarily have to understand where they are, but you can pray and be an encouragement. Prayer is the best thing you can do for someone. I also think that just having a smile, a heartfelt encouraging word, pat on the back, note or card, text, call, comment on facebook, message on twitter, or even just buying someone an ice cream just might be something that can make a profound impact and encouragement upon someone. We can all encourage one another. I hope to be an encouragement to all I meet. While I know I fail at that, I do try.

This is by no means a comprehensive list of occurrences in my life, but I had a moment and thought that I would do a quick post. I have an app for that.

I’m going to try to get back in the habit of posting every now and then.

Have we gone too far?

I was reading this morning and this quick thought popped into my head…There is a lot more to be said about this, but I am working under limited time constraints at the moment.

Ps 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

This is an interesting question…I fear that in America and in Christianity we have been eroding away the foundations for far too long….In Christianity, the foundation is the Bible. In America, the foundation is the Constitution.  There has been for a long time, a move away from what the foundations say, to what we want them to say. Common statements are, “It needs to be updated, it was written so long ago, so much has changed,” or “The writers were flawed,” or “What it says is not actually what it means” etc. I fear that because we are destroying the foundations, we are destroying ourselves.  You see, what has been done is that we have moved the line, just a little every generation, but the line is so far moved, it is nowhere near where it originally was drawn.  What used to be wrong is now socially acceptable. We are now more open minded…Don’t get me wrong, I think that we should be open minded about certain things, but if the foundation says it in plain black and white…there should be no room for argument or debate. A ship off course by just a degree will be a ship off course by many leagues after the passing of time.

What can we do? We must build upon the foundation…not take away from it and not use weaker materials. We must return to the line that has been drawn and the landmarks that were set and not cross the line, nor move the landmarks.

As Americans, we must return to what our founding fathers intended…It still works if it is followed.

As Christians, we must return to the Bible…It still works if it is followed.

Have we gone too far? I don’t think so, but I think that we are rapidly approaching the point that is called, “the point of no return.” If we go too far I fear that there may be dark days ahead.

We must draw a line in the sand and say, “This far, no further.”

So yeah, it is 09/09/09. It will not come back around for some time. Some have jokingly talked about the world ending today and similar comments, but I think that regardless of the date, we should live each day like it is our last.

This could be the last chance that you get to tell someone that you love them.  It could be your last chance to tell someone how to be saved. It could be your very last chance to make a difference in someone’s life. It could be your very last chance to make a difference in this great nation of ours.  It just might be your last chance to embrace the truth instead of a lie.

You say, ok this isn’t my last chance, this isn’t my last day…..Is it?

All I am saying is that we need to make sure that our relationships and our affairs are in order. Our relationships with God, Family, Friends, and Enemies are in order. That everything is in order in case you never get a chance to set it straight. Do the most with what you are given and you will have no regrets.

James 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Above All

Well, I picked up the guitar for the first time in a few weeks, I have been lazy and haven’t played in awhile. So, I am doing what I usually do when I finally pick it up…I play until my fingers hurt, change colors, and eventually the skin falls off! lol

I love music and it is integral part of my life. I love to sing, play the guitar, piano, and harmonica. I love to listen to several styles of music. I believe that music is the gift of God. I have been playing guitar since I was 13 years old, I am nowhere near as good as one should be for playing that long, but I play decently. Anyway, I started playing a song by Michael W. Smith called, “Above All,” and I haven’t heard it in awhile so I did like everyone else does and went to youtube and looked it up and listened for awhile while also having the chords on the monitor so I could refresh my memory. I don’t know the man personally or his live, but this song is a great song. The twofold thought of this song touches my heart.

Think about the concept…God is Above all! Above any government, elected official, tyrant, or anything created…PERIOD.

Philippians 2:5-11   Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Man, that is good stuff! Jesus Christ is equal with God, but humbled Himself to the death of the cross for me! I think my favorite part of this passage is the fact that because of His name every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! Every person or created being (this includes satan for those of you who think satan is greater than God. God doesn’t have to lower Himself to the cheap parlor tricks of the devil to prove He is Lord! He needs not show His credentials to anyone, no one is qualified to verify them!) who does not believe now or rejects Him now, or whatever the case may be, will bow before Him. If you don’t believe…You have a chance to change your mind now or you will change you mind then, but make no mistake, you will change your mind. On that day, any version of reality that you thought you understood will become a falsified perception of the past…The reality will be and has always been, that HE is LORD! I would not wait until that day if I were you.

The second part of the concept that is equally as powerful to me is the fact that even though HE is above all, He thought of me above Himself!

Now I am not saying that I am more valuable than Christ, but what I am saying is the Jesus loved me so much that He was obedient to the death of the cross. He died that I might live….John 15:13  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Jesus Christ considered me a friend! When He humbled Himself, became as a man, suffered the death of the cross, and arose victorious over death He was thinking of me. The very reason that He performed that great vicarious act was me. He thought of me above all! He took my sin and my sorrow and placed it upon Himself, He took my punishment. I am a created being made a little lower than the angels and yet the Creator of the universe thought of me!

Above All

Verse 1
Above all powers, Above all kings
Above all nature, And all created things
Above all wisdom,  And all the ways of man
You were here before the world began
Verse 2
Above all kingdoms, Above all thrones
Above all wonders, The world has ever known
Above all wealth, And treasures of the earth
There’s no way to measure What You’re worth

Crucified, Laid behind a stone
You lived to die, Rejected and alone
Like a rose Trampled on the ground
You took the fall, And thought of me Above all

I am so thankful for what my Saviour has done for me and what He has given me.  He has given me a life worth living and a home in Heaven when I deserved nothing but Hell.

2nd Year Anniversary

My wife and I just celebrated our second year of marriage! We were able to get away from work for a little bit and head out to Waco, Texas.  Waco, Texas? lol Yeah that is right, Waco, Texas. Since being married, we have enjoyed staying at Bed and Breakfasts in the area so I decided to look for one that we have never visited. I found one in Waco called “Bed and Breakfast on White Rock Creek.”  Their website is

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this B&B. It was in a nice location and they had several themed rooms that were absolutely beautiful. The hosts, Dana and Retha Strickland were a very nice Christian couple with a warm and welcoming spirit.  I would recommend this place to anyone.

We also had the pleasure of visiting the Texas Ranger’s Museum (The law enforcers, not the baseball team). It was great to see all of the history of that proud law enforcement organization…I especially enjoyed the weapons that they had on display.

We visited the Dr. Pepper Museum, My wife loves Dr. Pepper! I really enjoyed seeing the all of the history of one of America’s  most loved soft drink. What I really enjoyed was the triple chocolate sundae with Dr. Pepper syrup! Yummmmmy!

We ate a small, but really good japanes steakhouse in Waco called, “Samurai Japanese Steakhouse.” It appeared to be family run. It was very quiet and warm. We enjoyed the good food and watching the Chef tear it up with his mad cooking skills!

One of the most interesting things that happened the past couple days is that when we exchanged gifts, we realized that we had bought each other the same anniversary card!

The greatest thing about celebrating our 2nd year anniversary was looking back and know that you made the right choice for a mate. Out of everything that we did, I really enjoyed just spending time with my wife. My wife is my very best friend and I have enjoyed spending every moment with her.  Two years has flown by and I know that we have barely scratched the surface of what we will learn about each other and how much we will love each other, but I can say that I love my wife more today then when we were married. I learn to love her more everyday and appreciate her more as time goes by. My wife puts up with the very worst of me that no one else sees and she doesn’t complain or degrade me, she just has patience and encourages me. I am thankful for the wife God has given me and I know that I do not deserve her, but I will do everything in my power to try to reach that mark. I look forward to the next two years and the rest of our lives with such excitement to see what God does in and through our marriage.

Rachel, I love you and thank God for you. Thank you for being the best wife that I could ever hope to have! I can’t wait to see what the next years bring us.

George Orwell

I read 1984 a few weeks ago and was amazed at the picture that Orwell painted.  It is a little frightening to me to see some of the same trends that he wrote about in play in our society today.  In my short life, I have noticed that people want to re-write history and make it totally different from what really happened. I have noticed that our society wants to re-write the part of American history where it was founded upon Christian principles and the Word of God. We want to change the fact that our founding fathers recognized God in all that they did. By God, I mean JEHOVAH, not allah or some other false god. Not even a mere form of God as many want to say. The God of America has always been JEHOVAH. Now we want to be politically correct and forget all that. The part about the government controlling the media is coming closer and closer to being a reality every day.  I read somewhere that America will always be free as long as there is freedom of speech/press, but more and more we see only one slant of reality portrayed from the media.

I finished reading Animal Farm yesterday and that was yet another book that paints a comical picture of what is reality in many countries of the world and is becoming closer and closer to reality in America. The scary part was the fact that freedom can be attacked and even taken away from the citizens all in the name of freedom. Once the media is run by the government or at least only puts out what the government wants, it simply becomes an arm of the government for the distribution of propaganda.  It is amazing that in America there are so many people that simply believe everything that they see on the television.  These are the people (sheeple!) that will be lead by merely what is put out by the media/government without so much as a second thought….”4 legs good, 2 legs bad!”  Another scary part is how the animals in power kept changing the original laws of their farm to better fit their agenda. We see that happening in America today, the liberals want to “interpret” the law in a way that benefits them the most. Who cares what the founding fathers intended? maybe they actually didn’t mean it like that…The laws of this land have always meant what they mean, we don’t need some liberal changing them from the original intent. Unfortunately, there are too many sheeple in this country and I fear that they will keep buying this stuff hook, line, and sinker.  This is not an all encompassing report on both of these books, it is just a few things that came to mind before heading to work for the day.

George Orwell was a very wise man and I am glad that he penned some of these things down for others to read.

I am starting Rules for Radicals, by Saul D. Alinsky…lets see how much of the Alinsky method our President knows and practices.

Evan Thomas…What an idiot!…Obama is sort of God?

“In a way, Obama is standing above the country. Above…above the world…He’s sort of God.” -Evan Thomas

Exodus 20:3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
This guy is worshipping a community organizer…yeah he is the President of the United States, but when does that give us the right to exalt him to God status? I have respected and supported a lot of people and even a couple presidents in my short life, but I have not seen or met one that is on the same plane as the Creator of the Universe. This just shows you how easily people are impressed with a mere man.  I have been completely amazed with the love affair that the media has with President Obama. It is amazing that he can do some of the same things that presidents before him have done and they were vilified for, but he is praised and adored.

I couldn’t understand what is so wrong about President Reagan being for America. I think that the one thing President Obama lacks the most is a love and concern for America. He was talking about how that Reagan was about America, but Obama is above that! How can the president of the United States be above being for America?  It seems that he is more worried about everyone else except for America. North Korea is doing whatever they want, he just wants to talk. Iran is doing whatever they want, he just wants to talk. The enemies of America are swarming and waiting to strike a blow, he just wants to talk. I am not saying that President Reagan or either President Bush was perfect, but at least they didn’t just talk when it came to the security of America and the free world. What about Israel, he doesn’t want to talk to them, he would rather talk to the Muslims. He won’t associate with many Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc. because that would be secterian, but he has no problem endorsing Muslims….makes you wonder what he really is and for what he stands.

Well, he may be a god to the masses who follow him blindly, but I for one am not a worshipper  of his so called deity. If he is your god, you have a surprise coming, he will fail you for he is but man.

My God will not fail, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Walking with Rachel

My wife and I have been walking in the mornings before getting ready for work. It has been great and I want to continue doing so in the future. We are trying to be more active in our lifestyle. I have enjoyed spending time with her with no distractions enjoying God’s creation. We walk in River Legacy Park here in Arlington, Texas. We can walk on a trail from our apartment complex directly onto the trails in the park. We have enjoyed the serenity on the trails as we walk. We have seen several different types of birds, snakes, a rabbit, squirrels, a turtle, and other creatures in their element. It has been amazing to see the handiwork of God.

I think sometimes we are so busy with our lives doing work, going to church, and handling the affairs of this life that we sometimes forget to slow down and take a look at all the beauty around us. We need to take some time and stop everything that we are so busy doing and just enjoy what God has given us.  I have enjoyed doing that for just an hour or so every morning when possible. It has really been a highlight of my day. Spending time with my wife with nothing else going on,  walking, and enjoying creation around me has been awesome! I hope to continue doing so for the rest of my life.
